Share a little love this Christmas with our Giving Tree
This Christmas, our Yellow Kupi group is supporting Shoeboxes of Love, which helps people affected by disasters across Australia.
Families are invited to take part in our Giving Tree collection by preparing a complete shoebox or contributing individual items.
How to get involved
Pack a box: We encourage each family, where possible, to prepare one complete shoebox of love using the Shoeboxes of Love shopping list below to guide your choices.
Can’t manage a whole box? That’s absolutely okay. Individual items from the shopping list are very welcome too.
Bring your donation along to Kindy for our Giving Tree collection.
A few important guidelines
To help Shoeboxes of Love meet its hygiene and safety requirements:
Toiletries and personal care items must be in their original packaging.
Toothbrushes and razors must not be removed from bulk packs.
No secondhand items can be accepted.
Please do not seal or wrap your shoebox. Every box is inspected against the organisation’s guidelines before distribution.
Thank you to our Yellow Kupi families for helping our children experience the joy of giving and showing kindness to others this Christmas.
About Shoeboxes of Love
When families are affected by floods, bushfires, cyclones or drought, even everyday essentials can become difficult to access. And during such challenging times, a small gesture of kindness can mean a great deal.
Shoeboxes of Love is an Australian volunteer-run charity that supports people and communities affected by natural disasters.
Through donations from people across Australia, the organisation puts together shoeboxes filled with essential toiletries and personal care items, along with a few little luxuries to bring comfort during difficult times.
They also provide hygiene supplies to disaster relief centres and care packs for emergency service volunteers helping communities recover.
By contributing to our Giving Tree, our Kindy families can help provide practical support while sending a simple but important message to people doing it tough: someone cares.
You can learn more about their work at shoeboxesoflove.org.au.
