Working Bee

A maintenance levy of $350 is to be paid during Term 1 and Term 2 fees for Yellow, Blue & Red Group Families and $250 of this levy is refunded on completion of 2 working bees. The Kindy retains $100 of this levy.

Working Bees Explained

As a community not for profit kindergarten we rely on families to help us maintain our grounds and equipment.

Blue, Yellow & Red Groups are requested to complete 2 x 4 hour working bees per year (one working bee per semester) and 2 hours volunteering at a fundraising/social event. These Groups will pay $175 Maintenance Levy in Term 1 and $175 Maintenance Levy in Term 2.
$250 of this levy will be refunded in Term 4 fees when you complete 2 working bees and 2 hours volunteering at a fundraising/social event.

Green Group is requested to complete 1 x 4 hour Working Bee in Semester 2 and 1 hour volunteering at a Fundraising/social event. Green Group will pay $175 Maintenance Levy in Term 3 fees. $125 of this levy will be refunded in Term 4 fees when you complete your working bee and 2 hours volunteering at a fundraising/social event.

The retained amount of $100 from Blue, Yellow and Red groups and $50 from Green Group is used by the Kindy for work that can't be done by parents such as Arborist reports & tree lopping which for health & safety reasons must be done every year.

A voluntary building levy is also requested from parents. This is a voluntary levy which is tax deductible to parents. This building levy is set aside in the budget to provide for the costs involving maintenance and repair of the buildings onsite. Voluntary Building levy suggested amount $50 per year).
