Kindy Family Fun Day 2015
The annual Kindy Family Fun Day will be on Saturday 23rd May 2015 between 10am and 1pm. This is a fantastic, fun day for both adults and children alike. Highlights for this year include a magician at 10:30am, jumping castle, balloons, games, face painting, cupcake stall and sausage sizzle. This year we would appreciate a gold coin donation on entry to help cover the costs of the entertainment. We will also be asking for volunteers to help with the event on the day, as well as to bake cupcakes for the cupcake stall and donate lucky dip prizes. More information and sign-up sheets will be on the noticeboard at the start of term 2. For more information please see the noticeboard or contact one of the class reps.
Three year old Pre-Kindergarten places now available for 2015
Chapel Hill Community Kindergarten runs a 3 year old pre-kindy program on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon from 3.15pm until 4.45pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your child gently to the wonderful world of kindy. By the time they start 4 year old kindy they are off and running. This program is run by a fully qualified early childhood teacher and assistant and if you complete 4 terms of pre-kindy your child will be guaranteed a place in the 4 year old kindy program the following year. Another Amazing Art Show!
It was another fantastic day at our beautiful kindy, made even more beautiful by the display of many amazing artworks by all of the children from each kindy group. Not only did we get to enjoy the fruit of the children's artistic abilities, the day was complemented by delicious coffee by The Rich Pour, treats from the cake stall, as well as the interactive entertainment by Mal Wood and his Jazz Men. The children loved dancing and joining in with the music and it added to the atmosphere of the wonderful day. Thank you to our excellent teachers and all involved in making the 2013 Art Show a success! Art Show, Open Day & 50th Birthday Celebrations - Saturday 13 September 9am - 2pm 2014
Chapel Hill Community Kindergarten is holding our annual Art Show, Open Day & 50th Birthday Celebrations on Saturday 13 September 2013 from 9am - 2pm. Our Annual Art Show is a celebration of children's expression and creativity. Come and see our kindy transformed into a beautiful and joyful display of our children's art and creations. The Art Show is a great opportunity for families to meet our teachers and explore our wonderful centre which is nestled in leafy, natural, spacious surroundings providing an engaging, peaceful environment for learning. Everyone is welcome family, friends and the local community and neighbours, we will have a coffee cart and cup cake stall and Jazz band. Waiting list application forms will also be available.
A Successful Day!
Our Renovations Grand Opening & Family Fun Day was a resounding success! Many families, teaching staff and committee members came along as Dr Bruce Flegg opened the renovations with 3 of our kindy children, Jane Prentice MP & Councillor Julian Simmonds also came along and showed their support. Thank you to all those parents and grandparents who volunteered on the day or made sweets for the sweet stall. Our group reps and fundraisers did a fabulous job and we have raised in excess of $1000. It was a fantastic show of support and what being part of a community kindy is all about!

Family Fun Day & Grand Opening of Renovations
Saturday 18 May from 10am - 1pm
Everyone is welcome to come and join in on the excitement of our major renovations grand opening and enjoy the fun of the carnival! Dr Bruce Flegg will be representing the minister and opening our renovations with some of our kindy children. There will be some short speeches starting promptly at 10.10am and then the family fun day will get under way.
Exciting News - Stage 1 of our $180,000 external renovation is now open!!
The renovations have been going for a few weeks now and the weather hasn't exactly been kindy to us! Listonia Landscaping & MG Larder Builders & Landscapers are doing a wonderful job. I think everyone agrees what has been done so far is pretty impressive! This week we hope to see the roof structure completed, the sandpit filled with sand and the extended outside area tiled. In the next week or so they will then move on to construction zone 2 (extends from the outside toilets to the bottom shed). They are working hard to make up time lost due to bad weather and we are still hopeful of completion by the beginning of term 2.
UPDATE 17 March: This coming week Zone 1 will be completed and handed over - This is the main part of our external renovations and WOW does it look impressive, take a look at the photos below.
UPDATE: 19 March - This morning our blue group children arrived to be wowed by our beautiful new sandpit, extended & covered outside area. We are all amazed at what our fantastic Landscapers have achieved for us, check out the photos below.

Exciting happenings at the kindy over Christmas
Over the Christmas holidays the teachers and committee have still been working hard clearing out the kindy so we can start our internal renovations. A big thank you to Tim Alexander Carpentry and his team who have pulled out all the stops to get it finished on time for the start of term 1 2013.
This has been proudly funded and supported by the Queensland and Commonwealth Governments. The work includes reconfiguring the staff toilet to make a bigger storage area. Installing new lockers and storage above, installing custom built storage in home corner and a custom built music cupboard. Tim will also be removing the old shed from under the kindy, putting in a concrete slab and a built in storage area later in the year.
Our playground redevelopment is coming along, we are waiting for Brisbane City Council to give us the go ahead to remove a tree and for building approval for the deck extension and shade structures.
