Early Childhood Teacher

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher for a permanent part time role, beginning in July 2019 for a 6 month contract. The suitable person will be responsible for working two afternoons per week – Wednesday and Thursday, 6.5 hours per week. With additional time required to attend committee meetings and kindergarten events.

The suitable applicant will be responsible for:

  • Reporting directly to the committee / director with necessary information and updates;

  • Ensuring quality service delivery which provides young children with a secure and nurturing environment, and which also services to meet the needs of the community;

  • Provide direction and regular consultation with all members of the environment;

  • Building strong and positive partnerships with children and their families, while encouraging parent participation in the children's program;

  • Working effectively within a small team of staff and working closely with educators to provide suitable professional development opportunities;

  • Acting as a positive role model both within the learning environment and also in the wider community;

  • Sharing professional knowledge and experience with team members while respecting and acknowledging that of others;

  • Actively planning for and maintaining high standards of administration and programs relating to children and families within the service;

  • Advocating for both children and children's rights; and

  • Ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for children, families and staff.

Ideal applicants must possess:

  • Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification); and

  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.


Ideal applicants will have:

  • Current paid or exemption Blue Card;

  • Current First Aid/ CPR including Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates;

  • Previous experience in a Teaching role in an Early Childhood environment, preferably a structured preschool;

  • Previous experience in leading and inspiring a passionate team of educators within an Early Childhood environment;

  • Previous experience working with a committee;

  • Knowledge of the C&K curriculum approach; and

  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards, and the Early Years Learning Framework.

The suitable applicant will possess a strong passion for working with young children and bring a positive attitude and sense of enthusiasm to the service.

The suitable applicant will be responsible for:

  • Reporting to the Director/Teacher/Committee with necessary information and updates;

  • Ensuring quality service delivery which provides young children with a secure and nurturing environment, and which also services to meet the needs of the community;

  • Provide direction and regular consultation with all members of the environment;

  • Building strong and positive partnerships with children and their families, while encouraging parent participation in the children's program;

  • Working effectively within a small team of staff and working closely with educators to provide suitable professional development opportunities;
